Labioplasty

What is Labiaplasty?

Labiaplasty is the name given to the surgical reduction and aesthetic correction of the inner lip structures that mostly start from birth and progress with puberty, expand, lengthen, darken, sag or irregular in the folds called “labium major” and “labium minor” in the genitals and genital areas of women. Deformations in the genital area are called “labial hypertrophy” in the medical literature. The term labiaplasty, which is sometimes used as “Labiaplasty” in English among gynecologists for the correction of these deformations, briefly means “lip aesthetics”. This procedure is also called inner lip aesthetics. Labiaplasty is a method that has been used since 1983.

First of all, labiaplasty surgeries and applications are a term used to name all of the efforts to correct the symmetry, size, and visually bad appearance of both the outer and inner lips of the vagina. More often, labiaplasty surgeries tend to be called labiaplasty surgeries, as they are used for aesthetic operations that occur in the inner lip parts of the vagina. Therefore, let’s continue by mentioning the aesthetic problems of the inner lips, which are the main problems for women. Of course, let’s get to know a little bit about the main structure related to genital aesthetics;

Treatment Process After Labiaplasty

After labiaplasty or labia minor reduction, some women experience pain and discomfort during physical activity. This is because the surgery reduces the size of their inner labia. Taking good care of your body after labiaplasty helps you prevent injuries and promotes faster healing.
Pain and discomfort after labiaplasty are common. However, by taking care of your body, it is possible to prevent injury and promote faster healing.

After labiaplasty surgery, patients stay in the hospital for two or three days. Drink plenty of water to reduce swelling and speed up healing. Patients may also experience loss of appetite for several days after surgery as their bodies process the anesthesia and recover after surgery. Along with this general information, we recommend the following for the post-operative and treatment process;

1) After surgery, you may feel pain or burning during urination, sexual intercourse, or movement. You may also experience itching or swelling in the area where the procedure was performed.

2) Your doctor may prescribe medication to treat these symptoms, but you should also take care of your health.

3) Avoid activities that cause you pain or stress your skin, such as exercise.

4) Moisturize your surgical wound regularly to prevent dead skin from forming.

5) Avoid walking, standing and sitting for long periods of time.

6) Limit your surgical wound from sun exposure.

7) Apply lotion regularly to prevent burning and itching.

8) Restrict yourself from eating certain foods that expand your skin (such as coconut and egg proteins) after preparing for bacterial infections.

9) Eat a healthy diet and limit your sugar intake; In addition, a lack of sugar can slow down your recovery time and limit blood flow to your internal organs.

10) After surgery, doctors recommend that postoperative patients take extra care of their bodies for six weeks. This includes avoiding activities that worsen the condition and applying lotion to the surgical wound on a daily basis. During this time, nurses monitor the health and hygiene of patients after surgery, helping them recover. They provide protein shakes for post-operative patients who have no appetite and limit themselves from dangerous food products. After six weeks, most patients feel well enough to resume their normal routine.

11) After labiaplasty, patients may experience pain or discomfort during physical activity. To prevent injuries, doctors recommend taking care of your body after surgery. This includes limiting activities that cause you to feel painful sensations and regularly applying lotion to your surgical wound.
